Key West Charter from Miami

Key West from Miami by water is one of the great American boating trips. Three days, two nights, and you transit one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in the country with stops at Islamorada, Marathon, and Bahia Honda along the way. Day One you head south through Biscayne Bay and Hawk Channel. Lunch anchor at Elliott Key or push straight to Islamorada and overnight at a marina there. Islamorada is the quiet sport-fishing capital of the upper Keys with great waterfront restaurants if you want a proper dinner ashore. Day Two you continue south through Marathon, swim stop at Bahia Honda State Park where the old Flagler railway bridge frames one of the most photographed spots in the Keys, then push into Key West by mid-afternoon. Dock at Galleon Marina or Stock Island and head into Old Town for the Mallory Square sunset celebration. Dinner at Louie's Backyard or Latitudes if you want to spend the evening with view. Day Three is open. Some groups book a fishing charter for the morning. Some take it slow with breakfast at Blue Heaven and a beach day at Fort Zach. Cast off in the afternoon and reverse the transit, overnight in Marathon, back to Miami the following day. This is a custom-quoted charter every time. Vessel daily rate, crew per-diem, marina dockage at each stop, and a fuel surcharge for the round-trip transit. We confirm everything in writing before you commit. Three-day minimum, two-day version possible if you want to compress.

• How long is the actual transit?

  Roughly 8 hours of cruising each way at displacement speed, broken into segments. We do not run continuously, we stop and swim and overnight along the way.

• Can it be done in two days?

  Tight but possible. Two-day version skips Marathon and overnights only in Key West. Most groups prefer the three-day for the buffer.

• Where do we sleep?

  Either onboard if your vessel has staterooms or in marina-adjacent hotels in Islamorada, Marathon, and Key West. We can arrange both.

• Can we combine with a Bahamas leg?

  Not in the same trip from Miami. The Florida Keys run goes south, the Bahamas run goes east. Two separate voyages.

• What is the best month for this?

  November through April. Summer is workable but afternoon thunderstorms can push the schedule.

• Can we add a fishing day?

  Yes. Marathon and Key West both have charter fishing boats we can coordinate with for backcountry permit, tarpon, or offshore mahi runs.
