Star Island Sunset Cruise

Star Island Sunset Cruise

The Star Island sunset is the most photographed yacht charter in Miami and the most romantic four-hour window in our catalog. You leave Miami Beach Marina an hour before golden hour, do a slow loop past the celebrity estates of Star Island, Hibiscus Island, and Palm Island, then anchor in Government Cut where the downtown skyline lines up perfectly for the camera. Sunset itself is a 30-minute window. The captain positions the vessel facing west so the entire group has the view. Champagne service uncorks during the gold-pink color shift. If you booked the photographer add-on they catch the exterior shots and group portraits while the light holds. After sunset most groups stay out for another hour. Downtown Miami at full dark is its own thing, the city lights reflect on the bay, and the cruise back under the MacArthur Causeway is one of the best parts of the night. We can also pair this with a chef-driven dinner onboard for a multi-course meal during the cruise. This is the right voyage for date nights, anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and proposal setups. Sunset charters book up Friday through Sunday during high season. Reserve two to three weeks ahead for prime weekends, longer for holidays.

Frequently Asked

  • When does the sun actually set?

Varies by season. Summer sunsets are around 8:15 PM, winter sunsets around 5:45 PM. The captain confirms the exact astronomical time and adjusts departure to put you in position 30 minutes before.

  • Can we see celebrity homes?

You can see the exteriors from the water. Captain knows which estates belong to which owners and can narrate as you cruise. We do not approach docks.

  • Is this good for proposals?

Yes. Star Island sunset is the most-requested setting for private proposals on our calendar. See the proposal experience for full coordination.

  • Can we extend past sunset?

Yes. Add hours at booking. The skyline at full dark is its own experience and the city lights reflecting on the water are unforgettable.

  • Is there a dress code?

No. Most guests dress casual but skew nicer for sunset photos. Bring a light layer for after dark, the breeze picks up.

  • Can we order dinner onboard?

Yes via the chef-on-yacht add-on. Multi-course dinners with a private chef are popular for celebration sunsets.
